Anger Management Classes

Program Description

 

The anger management class is 12 weeks long and based on anger management curriculum from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  Evidenced-based interventions are implemented and psychoeducation is provided such as identifying triggers to anger, the cycle of aggression, cognitive restructuring, assertiveness training, and conflict resolution skills. There is a signed certificate of completion provided at the end of the classes.

Batterer’s Intervention Program

This program offers a wide range of intervention modalities that includes 18 weeks of 1.5 hour group sessions.  It utilizes the Duluth Model for treating Domestic Violence that focuses on aspects such as taking the blame off the victim and placing accountability for abuse on the offender, prioritizing voices of those who are battered, and providing change opportunities for offenders through court ordered programs.  The Duluth Model maintains contact with criminal and civil justice agencies, community members and victims in order to promote the community’s action to the issue of battering.

Outpatient Therapy

This program offers one-on-one counseling sessions, couples, or family counseling sessions in a supportive and confidential environment.  Qualified counselors, social workers, life coaches, or residents in counseling have experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults with various needs.  The outpatient counseling program accepts insurance payments in addition to offering a sliding scale for individuals based on their financial situation.

Parenting Classes

Event Details:

This program is designed as a 12 week parenting class that utilizes The STEP curriculum (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) used for a wide range of ages.  Learning is conducted through various modalities such as videos, worksheets, role-playing, and discussion.  This class focuses on implementing positive discipline that promotes discipline that focuses on solutions.  It provides psychoeducation and parenting strategies that include understanding your child, understanding beliefs and feelings, listening and talking to your child, and discipline that makes sense.
